Class A CDL Driving Program in Lester, PA
The Class A CDL truck driver training program gives students the skills needed to pursue a career as an over-the-road, regional or local commercial driver.
For those ready to begin a tractor trailer driving program with the goal of obtaining a Class A license, All-State’s CDL courses will introduce you to current industry standards and the technologies that support them. Our courses are taught by seasoned instructors who have the combination of knowledge, expertise, and passion that make them stand out as leading industry educators.
It Begins in the Classroom
Students entering our driving programs are often eager to start training in rigs, but the foundation of trucking education begins in the classroom. This is where you will learn the difference between the licenses and endorsements needed to haul freight that requires further testing, such as doubles/triples, refrigerated freight, and tankers.
Our program starts off by teaching students the information that is necessary to master before getting behind the wheel. Students are taught how to get in and out of trailers, operate gauges and controls, perform walk-around inspections (including locking/securing kingpin), secure cargo, and follow emergency protocols.
Training in the All-State Career Yard
After verifying mastery of your classroom material, you will move to the yard. This is where you will earn real-world experience and gain an understanding of how semis really work, from tractor to trailer and beyond. You will learn all of the critical safety tasks you must complete before and after driving any trailer, or carrying any load. During this portion of the program, you will practice everything you learned in the classroom by putting it all into action. You will have the opportunity to practice until you can perform tasks with pinpoint accuracy and confidence.
Get the Show on the Road
Once behind the wheel, you will practice operating and controlling big rigs. When you are ready to take these new skills on the road, our veteran instructors will give you some final tips about driving a semi alone for the first time that will equip you to succeed.
All-State Lends a Hand to Post-Grads
Once you have graduated from our program, our career services staff will assist you with the various aspects of your job search, including: résumé writing, completing job applications, practicing for interviews, and finding job leads that are the best match for your education and licensure.
